MGPO quarterly meeting
All MGPO physicians and employees are invited to attend the organization's quarterly staff meeting, Dec. 2, 5 to 6:30 pm, in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. For more information, call 4-9080.

Partners in Excellence awards ceremony
MGHers are invited to join James J. Mongan, MD, MGH president, Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners, and Jeff Davis, senior vice president of Human Resources at the MGH, in congratulating the recipients of the Partners in Excellence Awards, Dec. 16, 4 pm, in the WACC Lobby. The celebration will include a ceremony recognizing all MGH individual and team recipients, a video presentation and reception. Similar programs will be taking place throughout Partners institutions.
     The MGH health centers will recognize their employees receiving Partners in Excellence Awards at the following ceremonies: MGH·Revere, Dec. 9, noon; MGH·Chelsea, Dec. 11, 12:30 pm; and MGH·Charlestown, Dec. 17, noon. For more information, call Denella Clark at 4-0928.

Women's Career's research seminar
The MGH Office for Women's Careers (OWC) will host a panel discussion for the research community entitled, "Mastering Academic Advancement I: How and When to Establish Independence as an Investigator," Dec. 1, 4 to 5:30 pm, in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The presentation a repeat of a Nov. 18 discussion will explore several issues important to junior investigators. Intro to investigation
The GCRC and the Clinical Research Program will co-sponsor "Introduction to Clinical Investigation," a course designed for physicians, scientists, nurses, students and others pursuing clinical research activities. Classes meet Tuesdays, Jan. 12 to March 2, 5 to 6:15 pm, in the Bigelow Amphitheater, White 4. To register, call 6-1669 or visit the CRP web site at www.crnet.mgh.harvard.edu.

PeopleSoft training
PeopleSoft on-line requisition training courses will be offered through Dec. 30. The classes meet Tuesdays, 8:30 am to noon, room 643, in the Founders Building. Classes also take place Wednesdays, 8:30 to noon, room 126, in the BWH Neville Building. All registrants should have a working knowledge of Windows software. Black Achievers Award
Partners Human Resources is accepting nominations for the YMCA Black Achievers Awards, which recognize black men and women throughout the Boston area for their professional and community-based achievements and link them to the city's youth as role models. Nominations, which are accepted from supervisors and managers, are due Nov. 23, by 4 pm. For information and nomination forms, call Tyeshia Ravenel at 6-2210.

Rehabilitation lecture
"Assistive Technology Rehabilitation: The Metamorphosis of Patient Independence," the next of the New Beginnings in Rehabilitation luncheon lecture series, will take place Dec. 3, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, in conference room 8a and b, Spaulding. To attend the lecture and, if necessary, reserve a parking space, call 573-2225. This program carries contact hours for registered nurses and social workers and credit hours for physicians.
