Making a pitch for youth
programs and the United Way Bob Lobel, sportscaster for WBZ-TV, recently auctioned off great gift items, such as a baseball autographed by Mo Vaughn of the Boston Red Sox, during the Taste of the Town Auction to benefit the MGH·Charlestown Youth Care Community Services (formerly known as Camp Bunker Hill). Funds were raised to benefit the program, which provides therapeutic summer camp and after-school programs for youth who have trouble functioning in traditional community programs. MGHers also can support the MGH·Charlestown Youth Care Services through the United Way campaign, which is currently underway at the hospital. The organization is listed on United Way pledge cards as an option to receive direct contributions. Employees are reminded to return United Way pledge cards through departmental United Way representatives; by mail to Pamela Bingham-Freeman of Community Benefits, CRP-600; or deposit in drop-off boxes located in the Main Lobby, WACC Lobby, Payroll on Clinics 1, the security desk at CNY Building 149 and at each of the MGH health centers. For more information about the United Way campaign, call 4-6424. For more information about the MGH·Charlestown Youth Care Community Services, call 4-8241.
