HealthCare Everywhere
Fair draws a crowd From skeletal systems to fire safety to nutritious foods, there was information for all of the visitors including nearly 800 children and 600 adults who came to the MGH HealthCare Everywhere Fair March 18, sponsored by the MGH Pediatric Service. Featuring approximately 30 interactive booths about various health and safety topics, the fair brought together schoolchildren from the community, students from the Timilty Middle School, young patients, and MGH staff and their children, for a day of learning, sharing and fun underneath the Bulfinch Tent. "We were awestruck by the attendance and the entire spirit at the fair," said Mary Lou Kelleher, RN, MSN, pediatric clinical nurse specialist and chair of the Children and HealthCare Week Committee. "The success of the event was due to a huge team effort from a multidisciplinary group of staff who showed their outstanding commitment to children and families." The fair was one of several highlights of last weeks Children and HealthCare Week. Other events included a family concert starring Livingston Taylor, a childrens art fair, a conference about the parent-professional partnership and an award ceremony for pediatric staff who have shown exceptional commitment to family-centered care in their day-to-day work.
