Symposium to show breadth of MGH research MGHers can get a look at the full range of scientific investigation conducted at the hospital at the annual MGH Research Symposium Feb. 3. The poster session, at which presenters will be available to discuss their work, will take place 11:30 am to 2 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. From 2 to 3 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, William Crowley Jr., MD, MGH director Clinical Research, will discuss studies of neuroendocrine and genetic control of reproduction, and Bruce Rosen, MD, director of the MGH NMR Center, will speak about the role of functional imaging in assessing cerebral vascular disease. At 4 pm, Richard Mulligan, MD, of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Children's Hospital and the MGH Scientific Advisory Committee, will address new techniques for gene therapy. On Feb. 4, the Scientific Advisory Committee will hold its annual meeting in the Wellman Conference Room. This group of distinguished scientists who advise the hospital's research leadership will hear reports on the hospital's research mission in the morning and panel discussions addressing clinical trials and CIMIT (the Center for Innovative Minimally Invasive Therapy) in the afternoon. The meeting, running from 8:30 am to 5 pm, is open to the MGH research community. |
