Anne Beal, MD, MPH, MGH pediatrician and author of The Black Parenting Book: Caring for Our Children in the First Five Years, will be the guest speaker at the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners' (AMMP) Black History Month event this February.

The presentation will feature a talk by Beal, entitled "Black Parenting: A Model for Child Health in the New Millennium," and a raffle for her book. The event takes place Feb. 10, noon to 1:30 pm, at the Learning and Diversity Office, 185 Cambridge St., Charles River Plaza. Lunch will be served.

The Black Parenting Book is the first comprehensive guide for mothers and fathers caring for African-American children from infancy to preschool years. Beal also writes the parenting column, "Doctor's in the House" for Essence magazine.
