What's Happening
IHP graduate classes
The MGH Institute of Health Professions an accredited graduate school that educates
nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists and clinical investigators
will again offer a wide selection of courses for nonmatriculated students this
summer. Courses may be taken to satisfy prerequisites and to earn graduate or CEU credit.
Full-time MGH and Partners-affiliated employees may take their first class at half-price

Schwartz Center Rounds
The next Kenneth B. Schwartz Center Rounds, which will mark the second anniversary of the
discussion series, will take place April 30, noon to 1 pm, in the Walcott Conference Room.
The topic of this month's rounds will be "A Conversation with a Long-term Cancer
Survivor: When Communication Works and When it Fails." Lunch will be served starting

IBD symposium
Experts from the MGH will be among the many speakers giving presentations at the annual
inflammatory bowel disease symposium, Reaching for the Cure, May 2, 7:30 am to 2:15 pm, at
the Royal Sonesta Hotel, Cambridge. All are welcome to the program. To register, call

Free skin cancer screening
MGH Dermatology will host free skin cancer screenings May 11, 5 to 7:30 pm, in the
Dermatology Surgery Unit, ACC 481. Screenings, which will be given by hospital
dermatologists, will be available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call

MGH Angel Fund hosts a day at Whalom
Park
The MGH Angel Fund, supporting Lou Gehrig's disease research, will hold a benefit at
Whalom Park, May 8, noon to 9 pm, and May 9, noon to 5 pm. The amusement park, located at
10 Lake Front Ave., Lunenberg, Mass., will donate proceeds from its regular ticket
admissions to the MGH fund. Mary Richardson, of WCVB Channel 5, will be at the park May 9
to take part in the event. All are welcome, and tickets may be purchased at the door. For

Cycle for MS
The MGH Missing Links Cycling Team is gearing up for its 10th annual MS Great Mass Getaway
a two-day 150-mile cycling tour from Boston to Provincetown, June 26 and 27.
Proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. For more information about
