Give the most important gift of all this season

Looking to give the best present this holiday season? MGH employees are invited to come to the MGH Blood Donor Center to give the gift of life by donating much-needed blood during the holiday season.

While parties and presents often take precedence this time of year, the Blood Donor Center has noticed a decrease in donations as well as canceled blood drives.

For the next three weeks the Blood Donor Center will be offering extra goodies for those who donate. Donors can give any time this month and take part in the puppy pal campaign. Each donor may write a note attached to a stuffed puppy, which will then be delivered by Santa to pediatric patients at MassGeneral Hospital for Children. The first 35 platelet donors Dec. 16 through 20 will receive the Disney book, "The Making of Snow White." Platelet donors who give Dec. 24 and 26 and the first 20 blood donors on these days will receive movie passes.
