Happening MGH holiday party
The last of three holiday parties for MGHers will be held Dec. 19, 1 to 3 pm in the WACC
Lobby. The holiday parties are hosted by James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH.
MGH Holiday
Songfest
The MGH Chaplaincy Department will host the annual MGH Holiday Songfest Dec. 20, noon to 1
pm in the Main Corridor. Patients, families, staff and visitors are welcome to
participate.
EAP holiday
information
The Employee
Assistance Program (EAP) will host an information table about how to manage holiday
stress Dec. 14, 11 am to 2 pm in the Eat Street Cafe and Dec. 19, 11 am to 2 pm at CNY
Building 149 in the Atrium Lobby. There will be suggestions about how to manage stress and
set realistic goals during this season. For more information or to schedule an appointment

AMMP
presentation
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) is sponsoring a presentation
entitled, "Disparities in Health Care," Dec. 14, 2 pm, O'Keeffe Auditorium. The
guest speaker will be Charles J. McDonald, MD, immediate past president, American Cancer
Society, chair of Dermatology and professor of Medical Science, Brown University School of
Medicine, and dermatologist-in-chief, Rhode Island Hospital. There will be a reception
immediately following the presentation.
Nursing career
opportunity
The Department of Nursing is
offering a continuing education and development opportunity for nurses interested in
working in the operating rooms. Selected candidates will be sent to a two-semester
Perioperative Nursing Certificate Program at Northeastern University beginning Jan. 8, and
clinical training will be done in the operating rooms. Nurses with at least one year of

Store holiday sales for employees
The MGH
General Store will host its annual holiday sales for MGH employees Dec. 9, 6:30 to 9
pm; Dec. 14, all day; and Dec. 15, 10 pm to midnight. All items are 20 percent off or 30
percent off with a preferred customer card during sales times.
HOPES seminars
The MGH HOPES (Helping Our Patients and Families through Education and Support) program
will offer "Coping with the Holidays," facilitated by Michael McElhinny, MDiv,
Dec. 12, noon to 1 pm. "Home for the Holidays: What Do I Need to Know about My
Family's History of Cancer?" will be offered Dec. 14, 1 to 2 pm, facilitated by
Kristin Niendorf, a genetic counselor. All seminars are held in the Cancer Resource Room
on Cox 1. Seminars are free, and no registration is required. For more information, call
