MGPO quarterly meeting
All Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) physicians and employees are invited to the MGPO quarterly meeting and fifth anniversary celebration, Dec. 8, 5 to 7 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Peter Slavin, MD, CEO of the MGPO, will present "Lessons Learned from St. Louis." A cocktail reception will be held following the presentation.

Academic Council seminar
The Department of Medicine Academic Council at the MGH will present a faculty seminar, Dec. 8, 4 to 5:30 pm, in the Wellman Conference Room. The seminar is entitled "What and When to Publish" and will be moderated by Roy Soberman, MD, of the MGH Arthritis Unit. Panelists will include Dennis Brown, MD, of the MGH Renal Unit; Charles Hales, MD, of the MGH Pulmonary and Critical Care Unit; Robert Utiger, MD, deputy editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, and Kristin White, MD, PhD, of the MGH Cutaneous Biology Research Center. Registration for coding certificate courses
Registration for winter courses for the Medical/Clinical Coding Certificate Program at Northeastern University will be Dec. 6, 3:30 to 6 pm, in the Main Corridor. Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2, ICD-9, CPT-4 and Pathophysiology will be offered. For more information, call Kenya Gilmore at 6-2230.

Employee holiday parties
James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, invites all MGHers to attend the MGH holiday parties: Dec. 13, 2 to 4 pm in the WACC Lobby; Dec. 14, 1 to 2:30 pm at CNY, Building 149 Atrium; and Dec. 14, 10 pm to midnight in the Main Lobby.

Videoconference user training session
Monthly videoconference user training sessions will be offered beginning Dec. 3, 2 to 3 pm, in Partners Telemedicine, One Longfellow Place, suite 216. These free sessions are open to the Partners community and will be held the first Friday of every month. To register, call Courtney Trautman at 6-1652 or send e-mail to ctrautman@partners.org.

Holiday information tables
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will host holiday tables, Dec. 14, 11 am to 2 pm in the Atrium, at CNY, Building 149 and Dec. 16, 11 am to 2 pm, inside the entrance to the Eat Street Cafe. Information about how to manage stress, set realistic goals and take better care of oneself and family during the holiday season will be provided. For more information, call the EAP at 6-6976.

Chapel services
An additional Mass will be held in the MGH Chapel Dec. 8 at 11 am for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Regular Mass also will be held at 4 pm. In addition, the Episcopal Communion Services, which are usually held Wednesdays at 1 pm in the Chapel, will not be held in December. Services will resume in January. There will be an Episcopal service in the Chapel Dec. 25. The time for this service will be announced at a later date.

Holiday songfest
Patients, families, visitors and MGHers are invited to participate in the MGH holiday songfest, Dec. 14, noon to 1 pm in the Main Corridor.
