George C. Johnson, an MGH operations associate, was awarded the Operation ABLE (Ability Based on Long Experience) Outstanding Mature Worker Award, Nov. 5 at the World Trade Center in Boston. Johnson completed ABLE's 22-week Computer and Office Skills training program before coming to work at the MGH.

Thomas S. Durant, MD, assistant general director of the MGH, was also honored by Operation ABLE with the Eve and Ezra Merrill Award. The award is given in recognition of an outstanding record of achievement exemplifying the older worker.

David Rudnick, MD, of MGH Urology, is the 1999 Pfizer Scholars in Urology grant recipient for the MGH and Harvard Medical School. Rudnick was nominated by W. Scott McDougal, MD, chief of MGH Urology, to receive this $2,000 grant.

Catherine Bove, RN, of the MGH Neurogenetics Unit, was recently elected president of the International Society of Nurses in Genetics.
