IRB protocol lecture
The Human Research Committee and the Clinical Research Program (CRP) will sponsor "What Does the Internal Review Board (IRB) Really Want? How to Write a Human Studies Protocol" Dec. 9, at 4 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Libby Hohmann, MD, director of Partners IRBs, will present information to investigators about how to submit complete and concise applications. Partners in Excellence awards ceremony
MGHers are invited to join James J. Mongan, MD, MGH president; Samuel O. Thier, MD, president and CEO of Partners; and Jeff Davis, senior vice president for MGH Human Resources, in congratulating the recipients of the Partners in Excellence Awards, Dec. 11, at 4 pm in the WACC Lobby. Satcher to address racial disparity
The MGH will present a forum about racial disparities in health status Dec. 16, from noon to 1:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Keynote speaker David Satcher, MD, former U.S. surgeon general, will discuss how the health care industry can address the issue of disparities in health status and access to care. The forum also will be broadcast at MGH Revere, MGH Chelsea and MGH Charlestown health centers. For more information, call (617) 724-6424.

Holiday resource table
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer a holiday resource table Dec. 5, from 11 am to 1 pm at the main entrance of the Eat Street Cafe. Information about how to deal with the stress of the holiday season will be provided. The EAP will offer information about how to manage stress, how to set realistic goals and tips about how to enjoy the season. The information table also will be available at CNY, Building 149 Dec. 10, from noon to 2 pm in the Atrium corridor across from the cafe. For more information, call the EAP at (617) 726-6976.

Alzheimer's presentation
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer a presentation about how caregivers cope with Alzheimer's patients Nov. 25, from noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. The presentation will provide information about symptoms and causes and also will discuss medical, financial, legal and social issues facing patients and caregivers.
