Jeanette Ives Erickson, RN, MS, senior vice president for Patient Care Services and chief nurse, was presented with the president's award at the New England Regional Black Nurses Association's 30th anniversary celebration. Ives Erickson was recognized for her leadership in making diversity an organizational priority in the profession of nursing.

Timothy Guiney, MD, of MGH Cardiology, recently was selected to become a member of Martha's Vineyard Hospital (MVH) Board of Trustees. For the past 15 years, he has helped to maximize the clinical relationship between the MGH and MVH in cardiac care, neurology and radiology.

Richard A. Hodin, MD, of MGH Surgery, recently was elected secretary of the Society of University Surgeons.

David W. Rattner, MD, chief of MGH General Surgery, has been elected president of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). The society represents more than 4,000 surgeons who use endoscopy and laparoscopy in patient care.

Andrew L. Warshaw, MD, MGH surgeon-in-chief, recently was made an honorary fellow of the Societa Italiana di Chirurgia (Italian Society of Surgery) during the annual meeting of the society in Rome.
