STARs
shine in MGH Surgery
The MGH
Department of Surgery recognized its "STAR" employees at
the second annual STAR award ceremony and luncheon Nov. 1 in the Sweet
Conference Room. The STAR — Surgery Tribute and Recognition —
program recognizes nonphysician employees in the Department of Surgery
for their outstanding performance based on nominations. A committee of
four members of the Department of Surgery and a Human Resources representative
evaluate the nomination forms and vote on a monthly basis.
The recipients for fiscal year 2004 were Marie Doland, Amy Christmas,
Karen McDowell, Carole Lyons, Kathleen Fay, Maria Doherty, Emily Hill,
Audrey O'Keefe, Sandra Croteau, Gail Monahan, Jamie Brown and Susan Gravinese.
Andrew Warshaw, MD, MGH surgeon-in-chief, along with Ann Prestipino, senior
vice president for MGH Surgical and Anesthesia Services and the Cardiac
program,
and Debra Doroni, administrative director for the Department of Surgery,
congratulated the winners.
"People like you are the reason the Department of Surgery is a great
place to work," said Doroni. "You continually go above and beyond."
