Spooktacular
happenings at MassGeneral Hospital for Children
Tricks and treats were everywhere
last week at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, as the spirit
of Halloween descended upon the pediatric units. A Halloween-themed party
started the festivities, allowing the children to enjoy goodie baskets
as they created spooky Halloween crafts. Later, patients, staff and families
braved an eerie haunted house where they encountered mummies, skeletons,
bats and a psychic palm reader. On Halloween day, young patients made
their annual round of trick-or-treating throughout the hospital, not only
gathering heaps of treats but also bringing smiles to other patients and
staff. Led by the "Groovy Girls" a group of staff members
the pediatric patients disguised themselves as cartoon characters, princesses and their favorite
animals and made their way through the hospital to areas such as the MGH
General Store and numerous patient floors.
