MedFlight soars
Boston MedFlight recently was recognized with two prestigious honors -
full accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport
Systems (CAMT) and the Program of the Year Award from the Association
of Air Medical Services (AAMS). Boston MedFlight - an organization that
transports emergency patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week by helicopter
- is financially supported in part by a group of six Boston hospitals,
including the MGH.
CAMT is the national organization that verifies critical care transport
programs. The accreditation achievement recognizes MedFlight's success
in meeting the most rigorous standards of the commission, which evaluates
everything from training and education of clinical crew to maintenance
standards and pilot training.
AAMS is an international association serving providers of air and surface
medical transport systems. The Program of the Year Award recognizes MedFlight
for demonstrating a superior level of patient care, management, customer
service, safety consciousness, marketing ingenuity and a commitment to
the medical transport community as a whole.
