Management seminar
"Management Strategies for MGH Entry Level Research Coordinators in Drug Studies" will be offered Nov. 8, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Wellman 101 Conference Room. Speakers will include Paula Sexton of MGH Neurology, Deidre Norris, RN, of the MGH Epilepsy Service, and Sandra Kogan of Decisions Systems Group at BWH. Registration is required. HOPES seminars
The MGH HOPES (Helping Our Patients and Families through Education and Support) program will offer "Pain Anniversaries: Death’s Legacy," facilitated by Michael McElhinny, MDiv, of the MGH Chaplaincy, Nov. 7, noon to 1 pm. "Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant: A Discussion," facilitated by Cathleen Poliquin, NP, MSN, of the MGH Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, will be offered Nov. 9, 1 to 2 pm. Benefits open enrollment
Open enrollment is currently being held at the MGH, with changes effective Jan. 1, 2001. Employees can stop by information sessions, called Benefairs and QuickStops, to ask questions about various benefit programs. There will be QuickStops Nov. 3, 6:30 to 8:30 am in the Bulfinch 126 Conference Room; Nov. 16, noon to 2 pm at the Charlestown HealthCare Center and 9 to 11 am at Boston Evening Medical Center; and Nov. 17, 9 am to noon at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center. Complete schedules were mailed to employees with personal benefit summaries. For more information, call the Benefits Office at 726-8133.

Ethics forum
The MGH Ethics Task Force will sponsor "Controlling One’s Own Death: Should There be Limits?" Nov. 8, 4:30 pm in the Walcott Conference Rooms. The forum will feature a presentation of the Bill Moyers PBS video "A Death of One’s Own" with a case presentation and panel discussion to follow. Refreshments will be served.
