MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center and MGH Boston Evening Medical Center (BEMC) participated in Health Day 2000 Oct. 21. Sponsored by the Boston Public Health Commission and the Boston Conference of Community Health Centers, the citywide effort included 25 health centers around Boston that provided health education information and free screenings.

"Staff at both health centers felt that this event was a worthwhile effort to heighten awareness within the community about the importance of health education," says Peggy Carolan, administrative director for MGH Charlestown and BEMC. "It also was worthwhile to collaborate with efforts of the Public Health Commission and the Boston Conference of Community Health Centers."
