MGH Charlestown participates in citywide health van project

The MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center recently participated in the inauguration of "The Health Connection," a citywide public health effort. The Boston Public Health Commission, in collaboration with Boston Community Health Centers and Hospitals, created the project to enhance public health education and outreach initiatives in Boston’s neighborhoods by sending a mobile van to each community.

The van is staffed by an EMT and a registered nurse from the Boston Health Commission, as well as outreach workers and a nurse from a local health center, who provide health screenings and education.

MGH Charlestown is one of the collaborators of The Health Connection project and hosted the van Oct. 15, giving residents and visitors an opportunity to see the vehicle and to learn more about the health center’s services. The van is scheduled to visit the Bunker Hill Mall in Charlestown each Friday from 9 am to noon.
