Chaplaincy hosts
Day of the Dead service
The MGH
Chaplaincy Department will host a "Day of the Dead" service
a Mexican and Latin
American tradition that remembers family members who have died
Nov. 2 at 12:15 pm in the chapel. Nancy Raines, a Spanish-speaking chaplain,
will lead the service. All are invited to bring pictures of deceased family
members to place at the altar. The service will be in English and Spanish.

CNY employee blood drive
MGH employees working at CNY are invited to participate in a blood drive
Nov. 3, from 8:30 am to 2 pm. The MGH Bloodmobile will be located outside
Building 149 on the garage side of 13th Street. For more information or

Menopause and Your Health
The MGH Women's Health Coordinating Council will host "Menopause
and Your Health" Nov. 9, from 5 to 7:30 pm in the Blum Patient and
Family Learning Center. The program is designed to help women better understand
the facts about menopause and is the last program for 2004. The registration

Pre-screening of Nursing Diaries
Patient Care Services
will host a pre-screening of a television documentary, "Nursing Diaries"
Nov. 4 at 1:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The first segment of "Nursing
Diaries" was filmed at the MGH and features three story lines from
the hospital. "Nursing Diaries" will premiere Nov. 7 at 10 pm
on the Discovery Health Channel.
Call for abstracts
The deadline to submit abstracts for the Scientific Advisory Committee
2005: Celebration of Science Poster Session is now Nov. 10. Up to $750
in travel money to a scientific meeting will be awarded
five for clinical research and five for basic research. To submit abstracts
