Tribute to Carter R. Rowe, MD
The MGH Department of Orthopćdics will present "A Celebration of the Life of Carter R. Rowe, MD," Nov. 1, from 5 to 6 pm in the Ether Dome. The tribute will be followed by the dedication of the Carter R. Rowe, MD, Conference Room (formerly the White 6 Conference Room). Refreshments will be served. Health Information Management Week
The MGH will recognize National Health Information Management Week, Nov. 4 to 10, with information tables in the Main Corridor and by the Eat Street Café. Topics will include new regulations from the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and patient confidentiality policies and guidelines.

Membrane biology symposium

All Saints Day Mass
The MGH Chaplaincy has scheduled an additional Mass Nov. 1, in observance of the Feast of All Saints, a Roman Catholic Holy Day of Obligation. The Mass will be held at 11 am in the MGH Chapel. The regularly scheduled 4 pm Mass also will be held. For more information, call (617) 726-2220.

Clinical research coordinator training workshop
The MGH Clinical Research Program (CRP) will sponsor "Management Strategies for MGH Entry-Level Coordinators, Phase II-III Studies," Nov. 7, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. Paula Sexton, of the CRP, Deidre Norris, RN, of the MGH Epilepsy Service, and Sandra Kogan, applications project manager at BWH and formerly of the MGH Neurology Service, will discuss methods for combining MGH research experience with time management principles to provide a solid foundation in research coordination. The course addresses industry-sponsored clinical trials, and is eligible for 4.2 contact hours for registered nurses. Registration is required. CNY blood drive

Walk and road race for cancer fund
The Boston Athletic Club will host a 5-mile road race and 3-mile fitness walk to benefit the Marie C. Petrilli Cancer Fund, Nov. 4, beginning at noon from the club, located at 653 Summer St. in Boston. Petrilli was a former cancer patient at the MGH. The event will feature an after-race party with refreshments, entertainment and raffle prizes. The fee is $15 for entries received by Nov. 2, and $20 for all others. Eating disorders symposium
The MGH Neuroendocrine Unit will host a fall symposium, "Eating Disorders: A Multidisciplinary Update," Nov. 9, from 9 am to 1 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Topics will include "Primary Care Perspectives on Patients with Eating Disorders," "Nutritional Counseling and Eating Disorders" and "A Patient's View." Space is limited.
