Senior HealthWISE seminar
The MGH
Senior HealthWISE program will offer "Supplement Savvy at Any
Age" Oct. 21, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Room.

Infection Control Week
The MGH Infection Control
Unit will host an awareness fair in observance of Infection Control
Week. Information tables will be set up Oct. 21 through 23, from 11:30
am to 1:30 pm in the East Garden Dining Room.
Memorial service for Thomas Fitzpatrick,
MD
The MGH Dermatology Service will hold a memorial service for Thomas B.
Fitzpatrick, MD, former chief of Dermatology. The service will take place
Oct. 21 at 8 am in the Shriners Hospital Auditorium. All are invited to
attend.
Blessing of the Hands ceremony
In celebration of Pastoral Care Week, MGH
Chaplaincy will be offering a "Blessing of the Hands" ceremony
Oct. 22, from 6:30 to 8 am, 11:30 am to 1 pm and 3 to 5 pm, in the MGH
Chapel. All patients, families, staff, visitors and volunteers are welcome

Domestic Violence Awareness month
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness month, MGH Police and Security
will host "Helping Men Father After Renouncing Violence" Oct.
23, from noon to 1 pm in the Walcott Conference Rooms. Juan Carlos Arean,
a consultant for the Family Violence Prevention Fund, will be the guest
speaker.
Nursing career coaching
The MGH will launch a nursing career coaching program with an information
session Oct. 27, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in Walcott 3. The coaching
program will provide information about career paths in the nursing field
and will include details about schools, scholarships, financial aid and
other resources. The nursing career coaching program is a collaboration
between MGH Nursing and the Training and Workforce Development Office.

Fall 2003 Professional Development
series
Partners Human Resources now is offering the fall 2003 schedule for the
Professional Development series. This series will include training sessions
designed for managers and supervisors, as well as coursework open to all
staff. Topics include improving
communications and writing skills, time and project management, and more.
Training sessions are available from November through January and will

The Massachusetts
Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI) will hold its third annual public forum
about hearing and hearing loss Nov. 1, from 9 am to 12:30 pm, on the third
