Local seniors get moving
More than 30 community seniors shook and shimmied their way to good health
Oct. 7 at the kickoff for the Senior HealthWISE lecture series, the first
in a series of "get well" seminars for community seniors.
Guest speakers Kate Brill-Daley, general manager of The Clubs at Charles
River Park, Sandy Conner and Dan Murphy, both instructors at The Clubs,
led a discussion about the benefits of exercise. A demonstration followed
that focused on how seniors can improve strength, endurance, balance and
flexibility.
During the seminar, Senior HealthWISE also announced a joint program with
The Clubs, which includes free exercise workshops for seniors to be held
at the health club. The first workshop, "Sit to be fit," was
held Oct. 14, with future workshops to be announced. For more information,
