Nominations for Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN, award
The Stephanie M. Macaluso, RN, Expertise in Clinical Practice Award recognizes outstanding direct-care providers. Occupational therapists, physical therapists, respiratory therapists, speech and language pathologists, social workers and chaplains are eligible. Nominations are due by Oct. 29 and can be submitted by completing forms available at the Gray Lobby desk. For more information, call 4-5801.

Domestic violence play
As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a short play about dating relationships will be presented by the Women's Crisis Center of Greater Newburyport, Oct. 21, Wellman Conference Room, noon to 1 pm. For more information, call 4-0054.

Breast Health Awareness Day
The North End Community Health Center will offer screenings for Breast Health Awareness Day, Oct. 20, 10 to 11:30 am and 5 to 7 pm, 332 Hanover St. Those who qualify will receive a free mammogram, breast self-exam instructions, a clinical breast exam and refreshments. Qualifications include being uninsured/underinsured, ages 40 to 65 with a personal or family history of breast cancer or over 65 and not eligible for Medicare. Deadline for registration is Oct. 14. Eating disorders forum
The Harvard Eating Disorders Center is sponsoring "Media, Magazines and Me," Oct. 25, 7:15 pm at the Winsor School, Longwood Medical area. For more information, call 236-7766.

National Physical Therapy Month
The Department of Physical Therapy is offering two prevention seminars in celebration of National Physical Therapy Month: "Posture, Back Protection, and Ergonomics," Oct. 13; "Fall Prevention and Safety Awareness," Oct. 27. The MGH Ethics Task Force is sponsoring "What Happens When Something Happens: The Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Process," Oct. 13, 5 to 6 pm in the Ether Dome. Speakers include: Joan Fitzmaurice, RN, PhD, director of Quality, Patient Care Services; Cy Hopkins, MD, chairman of the Quality Steering Committee and Carolyn Wood, JD, of the Partners General Counsel's Office. The sixth annual Yvonne L. Munn lecture "Clinical Practice and Research: Fitting a Square Peg into a Round Hole?" and the Yvonne L.
