  • Ether Day celebration of service
    Ether Day will be celebrated Oct. 12, recognizing the contributions of employees who have worked at the MGH for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 and 60 years. This year's Ether Day celebration will honor approximately 1,600 employees and staff.
  • 2001 Stewart Memorial Scholarship winners
    During his years of service to the MGH, the late Clifford D. "Cliff" Stewart III a former on-site leader for Walsh Brothers Construction Company who extensively worked with the MGH Planning Office made a solid impression. On Sept. 17, two employees Nedjey Cassamajor, of Partners Real Estate, and David Politano, of MGH Buildings and Grounds were recognized as the recipients of this year's Stewart Memorial Scholarship Award.
  • Managed care offers high quality of care for children with asthma
    A team led by MGH researchers has found that children with asthma receive similar quality care under both managed care and indemnity insurance plans. In fact, the researchers note, managed care might be the better option. The results of the team's study are published in the Sept./Oct. issue of Ambulatory Pediatrics.
  • Pulmonary Hypertension Week fights disease with facts
    Pulmonary hypertension (PH) a disorder of the blood vessels in the lungs which results in excess strain on the right side of the heart can lead to life-threatening symptoms. Thanks to a team of dedicated MGH clinicians and patients, and their commitment to educating the public, the battle against the disease seems closer to being won.
  • MGH Revere Teen Center makes its debut
    Employees and staff of the MGH Revere HealthCare Center joined members of the community in celebrating the grand opening of the MGH Revere Teen Center Sept. 25. Teens involved with the center will participate in a variety of projects, from planning a Pinewood Derby to visiting hospital patients.
