Senior HealthWISE fall lecture series
The MGH Senior HealthWISE program will begin its fall lecture series with "Seniors Get Moving" Oct. 7, from 11 am to noon in the Walcott Conference Room. Kate Brill-Daley, Sandra Conner and Dan Murphy of the Clubs at Charles River Park will discuss how seniors can get stronger, live longer, and how much and how often they should exercise. National Depression Screening Day
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer free, anonymous and confidential depression screening tests Oct. 9, in observance of National Depression Screening Day. Screenings for MGH employees will be held from 11 am to 2 pm in VBK 427. Screenings for the general public will be held from 9 am to 3 PM at 50 Staniford St. on the fourth floor. The EAP and the MGH Depression Clinical and Research Program will provide a variety of information about depression in the Main Corridor from 9 am to 1 PM For more information or to schedule a screening at a different time, contact the EAP at (617) 726-6976.

EAP seminar
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer the seminar "Women and Depression" Oct. 8, from noon to 1 PM, in the Clinics Amphitheater. Adele Viguera, MD, of MGH Psychiatry, will address depression in the lives of women today. For more information, contact the EAP at (617) 726-6976.

Infection control week
The MGH Infection Control Unit will host an awareness fair in observance of Infection Control Week. Information tables will be set up Oct. 21 through 23, from 11:30 am to 1:30 PM in the East Garden Dining Room.

Pre-ACLS course
The MGH Department of Emergency Services will offer a Pre-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course Nov. 3, from 8 am to 4 PM in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. This course reviews basic cardiac anatomy and physiology, cardiac dysrythmia and treatment modalities, along with basic airway management. The course fee is $100 for Partners employees. Schwartz Center annual dinner
The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center will celebrate its eighth anniversary at its annual dinner Oct. 23 at the Westin Hotel, Copley Place. A reception will be held at 5:30 PM The dinner will be at 7 PM and will feature a performance by Tony and Emmy winner Ben Vereen, and a presentation of the fifth annual Compassionate Caregiver Award. Women's cancer awareness fair
The MGH Cancer Center will host the Women's Cancers Awareness Fair Oct. 17, from 9 am to 2 PM in the Main Corridor. Information about early detection, prevention and treatment of the most common cancers affecting women today will be available.
