  The highlight of this year's Partners Town Meeting, held Sept. 23 in the O'Keeffe Auditorium, was a look back at what Partners HealthCare has accomplished in the 10 years since it was formed in 1994.

• MGHers work together to make a dream come true
  Lifelong Red Sox fan, Gordon Huckins, has made a home away from home on Ellison 8. Because he has been at the hospital for seven months connected to a ventricular assist device (VAD) that pumps his heart while he waits for a heart and kidney transplant, Huckins' clinical team prescribed a different kind of medicine.
  

• Wanted: More good men and women
  The Hazmat Response Team will begin phase two of its recruitment drive at an information session Oct. 8, from 11 am to noon in the Wellman Conference Room. The presentation will cover the training and other requirements for becoming a Hazmat Response team member.

• Making a change: MGHers to move to new Yawkey Center
  Plans have been finalized, measurements have been taken and boxes have been packed for the many MGH employees and staff participating in the first phase of the move to the new Yawkey Center for Outpatient Care, starting Oct. 8 and continuing over the weekend. The doors to the new center will officially open to patients and staff Oct. 12.
  

• Join the 50/70 Club
  The Clean Sweepstakes — a friendly competition among patient care units to achieve the highest hand hygiene compliance — has just completed its third quarter, and the STOP — Stop the Transmission of Pathogens — Task Force has announced that an extra recognition will be added to the regular Clean Sweepstakes reward for the final quarter of 2004.

• MGH Stroke Service to be surveyed
  As a recognized leader in stroke care, the MGH Stroke Service will participate in a statewide
  effort by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) to designate centers for the care of acute stroke patients. Because acute stroke care varies widely from hospital to hospital, the DPH drafted new regulations for these specialized centers of care.

• MGH wage and salary program announced
  The MGH this week announced the fiscal year 2005 wage and salary program effective Sept. 26 that includes a performance-based increase ranging up to 4 percent. This year's General Hospital program is funded at 3 percent.
  

• First Public Leaders Day
  More than 20 Massachusetts state legislators and senior officials had the opportunity to participate in the hospital's first-ever Public Leaders Day educational forum, "Exploring the Brain," held Sept. 23.
