Chelsea celebrates present
and past employees
The MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center hosted an end-of-summer cookout Sept.
10 to show its appreciation to employees and staff.
The entire MGH Chelsea staff was treated to an array of food and live
music. The cookout was funded through the Summer Fun Employee Recognition
program, which was developed by the MGH Strategic Planning Committee's
Workforce Taskforce. Since the beginning of July, managers and department
heads throughout the hospital have been given the opportunity to recognize
individuals or teams within their unit or department by submitting information
to the program. The program provides up to $1,000 for recognition efforts
that managers and department heads may choose to maintain in their own
budgets in the future.
To that end, the MGH Chelsea staff announced a new employee recognition
program — the Donna Marie Grenier Award for Excellence. Named in
honor of Donna Marie Grenier, RNP, a former nurse manager in the Walk-in
Unit, who died in June 2003, the award will be presented annually. Grenier's
family, who attended the program, received the first award in Grenier's
honor. A tree also has been
planted at the health center in memory of Grenier.
