Partners Coding College
The MGH and Partners now are sponsoring after-work courses for those interested in
developing a career in coding and other areas of health information. Classes are taught by
Northeastern University instructors and are covered by up to $2,000 per year in tuition
reimbursement. Two courses will be offered throughout the fall: CPT-4 Coding and
Pathophysiology I. All credits earned count toward a college degree. For more information,

Clinical Research Program CRC training seminar
The MGH Clinical Research Program will sponsor "Conducting Clinical Research
Studies," a seminar for clinical research coordinators with less than six months of
experience. The seminar will be held Oct. 10, from 8:30 am to 5 pm in the Wellman
Conference Room. Lorraine Ellis, MS, MBA, president of Research Dynamics, will provide
instruction about the research site's role in the drug development process, the roles and
responsibilities of research staff, good clinical practice, study conduct and audits. The
seminar will award 8.4 contact hours for participating nurses. For more information or to

American Heart Association Walk MGH employees are invited to participate in the American
Heart Association Heart Walk Sept. 29, 9 am at Lederman Field at the Charles River Hatch
Shell. MGHers may walk with groups from MGH Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiology or
MassGeneral Hospital for Children. MGH participants will meet for a team breakfast in the
Walcott Conference Rooms from 7:45 to 8:45 am on the day of the walk. For more information

Fall computer workshops
Partners Information Systems Training now has released the fall computer workshop training
schedule for Microsoft Office applications. All classes are held at Partners Corporate

Scientific writing series
The MGH Clinical Research Program and Department of Psychiatry will present
"Scientific Writing," a three-part educational series, Oct. 10, 17 and 24, from
4 to 5 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. The course is designed for employees who desire to
improve their scientific writing ability. Departments also are encouraged to send
representatives who can share new insights about the writing process. For more information
