Cancer
survivors gather for information, inspiration The MGH Cancer Center's Network for Patients and Families
hosted its fifth annual survivors' conference Sept. 8, featuring informative and inspiring
presentations for cancer patients, survivors, their families and friends. One of the featured guests was cancer survivor and author Margit Esser Porter (left), who reflected on her "journey of hope" climbing Mount Fuji in Japan. Lynne Davis, a certified music practitioner and psychotherapist, performed on the harp and spoke about using music for health, relaxation and restoration. MGH Cancer Center physicians Anthony Zietman, MD, Richard Penson, MD, and Arlan Fuller, MD, gave updates about new medical advances in radiation, medical and surgical oncology. MGH physical therapist Diane Heislein, PT, MS, OCS, spoke about regaining strength and stamina during the battle against cancer. |
