Cruising for a cause
Members of Friends Fighting Breast Cancer shared some summer fun while
raising money for MGH research at their second annual Boston Harbor Friendship
Cruise. Guests
enjoyed a buffet dinner, dancing and views of Boston Harbor during the
fun-filled cruise that raised $9,000 to support genetic research being
conducted by the MGH Center for Cancer Risk Analysis. The money will be
included in the group's annual donation to the MGH at the end of the year.
Nearly $300,000 has been donated to the MGH by the group during the past
six years.
Friends Fighting Breast Cancer is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization
founded by Janet Connolly O'Neill and Fran Gilardi. Since this event took
place, O'Neill lost her battle with breast cancer and died Aug. 20.
