Ives Erickson recognized for excellence, leadership

Jeanette Ives Erickson, MS, RN, senior vice president for MGH Patient Care Services and chief nurse, has been awarded the annual Mary B. Conceison Award for Excellence in Nursing Leadership. The award salutes outstanding nurse leaders within the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives (MONE) and American Organization of Nurse Executives.

In addition to her leadership role at the MGH, Ives Erickson has been a MONE member for 13 years, serving as a speaker and spokesperson. She also has handled a variety of responsibilities as a member of MONE's government affairs, public relations and by-laws committees.

James J. Mongan, MD, president of the MGH, remarks upon Ives Erickson's strengths and his support of her achievements: "Jeanette is a natural leader. She has created numerous educational opportunities for employees, and has found many ways to honor the truly excellent nursing staff here at the MGH," he says. "Jeanette honors the nurses who give of themselves so freely to the hospital and to our patients. I am pleased to see her contributions to the field recognized."
