MGHers with heart walk for a good cause

MGHers soon will come together to help raise money in the fight against heart disease and stroke.

The American Heart Association's Boston Heart Walk, to take place Sept. 20 at Lederman Field on the banks of the Charles River, is part fundraiser, part educational event. Walkers have the choice of three different route lengths: 1, 3 or 6 miles.

A portion of money raised will support the Boston Heart Walk research fund at the MGH. Currently, $3.8 million in cardiac research is conducted at the MGH.
