In memoriam

Walter Swazdowich, a long-time friend and colleague to many at the MGH, died at the hospital July 26. Known affectionately as "Walter the newspaper man," Swazdowich sold newspapers for more than seven years to patients and employees. Many MGHers remember him as a kind and gentle man and for his unwavering dedication to the MGH community and to patients. He often said, "It brings me so much happiness to see the smiles on the faces of the patients when I come to their door with the newspaper."

A memorial service will be held in the MGH Chapel Aug. 13 at 2 pm. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Walter Fund, c/o Harvard Credit Union, account #93737.
