What's Happening

Clinical Pastoral Education Program
The MGH Clinical Pastoral Education program is a training program accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. with the goal of providing an expanded ministry to patients, families and staff. The winter 2001 session is open to persons from any discipline who work directly with patients and families in a health care setting and wish to integrate spiritual caregiving into their professional practice. The winter program is part-time and will run Jan. 8 to May 25, 2001. Group sessions are held each Monday, 9 am to 5 pm. All applications for the program, which includes the Schwartz Fellowship in Pastoral Care, are due by Sept. 11. Bowling league
The MGH/BWH Bowling League will begin its 52nd season Sept. 7. Teams meet on Thursday evenings at the Ryan's Family Center (formerly Kenmore Bowladrome) in Kenmore Square, at 5:30 pm. The league runs from September to April and welcomes new members and those who just want to bowl for an evening. Clinical research coordinator seminar series
The Clinical Research Program will present a video of "The Belmont Report," Aug. 16, noon to 1 pm in the Wellman Conference Room. The Belmont Report provides the basis for protection of human research subjects in the United States, and familiarity with its content is essential when working in clinical research. A brief discussion of current issues in clinical research will follow. Dessert and beverages will be provided. To register, call 726-1669 by Aug. 14.

In memoriam
A memorial service will be held for former patient Jessica Ouellette, Aug. 24 at 4 pm in the MGH Chapel. For more information, call Ken Scheublin, at 724-5856.
