Former governor visits MGH research
lab
Former
Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis has always had an interest in health-related
matters, from working on health care issues while in office to teaching
health policy to college students. So it was no surprise to Robert Brown,
Jr., MD, director of the MGH Day Neuromuscular Lab, when Dukakis eagerly
accepted an invitation to visit his MGH lab, which focuses on research
into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Dukakis
met with Brown and his research staff Aug. 2, asked many questions about
ALS and toured the labs located at CNY Building 114.
