JCAHO tip of the week

Surveyors from the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) will be visiting the MGH Sept. 15 through 19. In preparation for the survey, Hotline will be featuring a tip of the week. The tip will contain information that all MGHers should know for the survey. Performance evaluations

• JCAHO expects all employees to have their performances evaluated and     competencies assessed in accordance with hospital policy.
• At least 95 percent of MGH annual evaluations due must be completed and timely to avoid a Type 1 recommendation.
• Employees in positions that require licensure must have their current licensure on record in the PeopleSoft system.  
• Managers should utilize PeopleSoft MSS reports and query functions to know when employee evaluations are due.
• Managers and supervisors should contact their Human Resources generalist for more information.
