MGH Chelsea to participate in Latin American Festival
The MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center will participate in the annual Chelsea Latin American Festival sponsored by the Latin American Cultural Association at the Mystic Mall (across from the health center at 151 Everett Ave). MGH Chelsea will host tables located under a festival tent with educational information, health screenings, raffles and other activities Aug. 7, 2 to 7 pm, and Aug. 8, 2 to 5 pm. Pew Scholars Program in Biomedical Sciences
Preliminary applications for institutional nominations are now being accepted by the MGH for the Pew Scholars Program in the Biomedical Sciences for 2000. The award is given for research in basic and clinical sciences relevant to the advancement of human health. The award is $50,000 per year, for four years, starting July 1, 2000. Applicants must be current junior faculty members who will not have been full-time faculty members for more than three years as of July 1, 2000. Applications will be considered by the Subcommittee on Review of Research Proposals, with final approval of the nominee by the Executive Committee on Research. Applications are due Sept. 22 at Research Management, Bartlett 305. For more information, call Karen Durant Faria at 4-2724.

Cancer Center program
The Cancer Center Patient and Family Support Program (PFSP) will offer the seminar, "A Patient's Perspective on the Workplace During and After Treatment," Aug. 10, noon to 1 pm. The seminar will be held in the Cancer Resource Room on Cox 1. For more information, call 4-1822.
