The MGH Police and Security Department recently was honored with the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) "Lindbergh Bell" award. The department received the international award for providing outstanding health care security services. Establishment of programs in the area of crime prevention, risk management, training, innovation and application of contemporary technology are a few of the aspects that the IAHSS looks for when bestowing this award. The IAHSS also requires that a program is comprehensive, progressive, results-oriented and cost effective. The MGH Police and Security Department met all of these criteria and was honored at the annual meeting of the IAHSS in June, where several members from the department were recognized.
