    With a comprehensive security plan in place, MGH Police and Security staff working closely with local and state police spent the week during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) ensuring that security on and around campus remained tight and vigilant.

    Even though activity was relatively quiet at the hospital during the week of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), the MGH information desk ambassadors were on hand to help patients, their families and visitors get to their destinations in the hospital.

    Although the anticipated traffic gridlock during the Democratic National Convention (DNC) was less than expected, MGHers still were out in full force ensuring the convention week went as smoothly as possible.
  • MGH IHP hosts DNC delegates briefing
    The MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) and its president, Ann W. Caldwell, hosted a Democratic National Convention (DNC) delegates briefing, "Health Care Reform and the Election" July 28 at its facility at CNY. Guest speakers included Congressman John F. Tierney and keynote speaker Donald M. Berwick, MD, MPP.
  • Shuttle service makes a difference
    MGH employees and patients rely heavily on Partners Transportation's shuttle service to take them to MGH affiliates and other Partners institutions for medical appointments, business meetings or for patient care activities.
  • MGH physician rows his boat ashore
    Even though traffic was minimal during the week of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Robert H. Ackerman, MD, of MGH Neurology and Neuroradiology, stuck to his original plan and rowed his way to work July 27.

    Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH, hosted an ice cream party July 29 to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of employees and staff during the Democratic National Convention.
