SummerWorks Showcase
The MGH/Timilty Partnership will hold its annual SummerWorks Showcase for interns in the Main Corridor, Aug. 8 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. SummerWorks is a career exploration and summer employment program that offers graduating Timilty students paid part-time summer internships at the MGH. At the SummerWorks Showcase, interns will present the skills, experience and lessons learned throughout the seven-week program. AMMP scholarship deadline extension
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) has extended its application deadline for the 2002 AMMP scholarship. All applications now should be submitted by Aug. 16. All Partners minority employees in good standing and employed for at least one year are eligible to receive up to $1,000. Applicants must be accepted into part-time or full-time programs of study and should be willing to commit at least 20 hours of service to AMMP if chosen as scholarship recipients. Bloodmobile at CNY

ALS art exhibit extended
The Muscular Dystrophy Association's art exhibit at the MGH has been extended through Aug. 1. Called "Transcending Barriers to Creativity," the exhibit showcases original artwork by people living with ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. The artwork may be viewed Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm in the Neurology Clinic in WACC, room 835.Patient confidentiality display. An information table about patient confidentiality will be on display in the Main Corridor July 23 and 25, from 10 am to
2 pm, and Aug. 13 and 15, from 10 am to 2 pm. At the information display, MGHers
will be able to preview and give feedback on the new MGH privacy notice that soon will be given to all patients. For more information, call Eileen Bryan at (617) 726-6360.

MGPO forum
The Massachusetts General Physicians Organization (MGPO) will hold a forum July 22, from 3:15 to 4:30 pm in the O'Keeffe Auditorium. Lawrence Summers, president of Harvard University, will be the guest speaker. For more information, call the MGPO at (617) 724-9080.

HOPES seminars
The MGH HOPES (Helping our Patients and Families through Education and Support) Program will offer several classes and seminars this month. Paula Rauch, MD, child psychiatrist, will hold a seminar to address issues for parents with cancer July 23 and 30, from 11 am to noon. An oncology nurse will speak about chemotherapy July 24 and 31, from noon to 1 pm. Vicki Cotton, MSW, an oncology social worker, will hold a class about reducing stress July 25, from 1 to 2 pm. Poetry workshops and yoga classes will resume in September. All workshops are free and are held in the Cancer Resource Room on Cox 1. For more information, call (617) 724-1822 or (617) 72-HOPES.
