Got clean hands?

While famous celebrities have garnered national attention by appearing in "Got milk?" advertisements, some MGHers are getting attention around the hospital in a similar way with the latest poster from the MGH Hand Hygiene Program that asks the question: "Got clean hands?"

Five employees from clinical and nonclinical departments are featured in the posters that were distributed throughout the hospital last week. These employees feel strongly about the message to practice good hand hygiene before and after patient contact by using CalStat, the waterless hand disinfectant available throughout the hospital.

The posters feature Claribell Amaya, RN, from White 6 (at right); Bill Banchiere, from Environmental Services; Valerie Cleverdon, from Nutrition and Food Services; Ethan Korngold, MD, from Medicine; and Gail Ricci, RN, from the General Clinical Research Center.

The posters primarily are displayed on inpatient units in display holders meant specifically for the Hand Hygiene Program. For more information about the program, call the Infection Control Unit at (617) 726-2036.
