Here's to the heroes who make it happen

They are the employees who normally work behind the scenes ensuring that the operations of the MGH are smooth and successful. On June 24, Operations Support Staff Day recognized these unsung heroes.

The celebration honored staff members from the following areas: Anesthesia, Biomedical Engineering, Buildings and Grounds, The Center for Comparative Resources, Environmental Services, Health Information Services, Images Hair Salon, Interpreter Services, Materials Management, Medical Information, Ambassadors, MGH General Store, MGH Photography Department, Nutrition and Food Services, Operating Room, Parking and Commuter Services, Patient Care Services, Police and Security, Safety Office, Sterile Processing, Telecommunications, Treadwell Library, Volunteer Services and the Warren Library.

The day-long event included a luncheon under the Bulfinch tent for day-shift employees, a dinner for evening-shift staff and boxed dinners in the East Garden Dining Room for all support staff members who work the midnight to 8 am shift. Each employee also received a raffle ticket, a Partners cooler lunch bag as well as an MGH drawstring shoulder pack.

A photo display in the Main Lobby highlighted facts about the departments and staff, many of whom have offered their talents and dedication to the MGH for years.
