Joseph W. Gardella, MD, of MGH Internal Medicine and Harvard Medical School (HMS), died June 12 at the age of 86. Gardella was a founding member of the MGH Internal Medicine Associates, and also served both as a clinical instructor in Medicine and dean of students at HMS.

Donations in Gardella's memory may be made to the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care, c/o the MGH Development Office, 100 Charles River Plaza, Suite 600, Boston, MA 02114. A memorial service for family, friends and colleagues currently is being arranged.
