Emergency preparedness for Fourth of July
holiday
The MGH has been collaborating with other hospitals and local emergency
management agencies to prepare for any emergencies that may arise during
the Fourth of July holiday. The Boston Fire Department will set up decontamination
tents July 4 and 5 at the MGH and Boston Medical Center as part of these
emergency planning efforts. The tent at the MGH will be located on Fruit
Street in front of the main entrance to the hospital. For more information,
contact the MGH Safety Office at (617) 726-2425.
Conference room bookings
Because of an upgrade in its conference room scheduling system, Environmental
Services staff requests that MGHers not make any new requests for conference
room bookings during the weeks of July 29 through Aug. 9 for the following
rooms: O'Keeffe Auditorium; Walcott 2 and 3; Wellman 101; Burr 1, 2, 3,

Services also asks employees to not make any special requests for tables
and chairs during this time. Cancellations or changes to pre-existing
reservations, however, will be accepted during this time period. The system
shutdown will not affect any reservations that have been scheduled. Please
submit any new requests either before the week of July 22 or after Aug.
