Research training
session
The Center for Clinical Investigation at BWH will offer a training session
July 14, from 7:45 to 11:30 am, at One Brigham Circle, 4th floor conference
center, room 002B. This course is comparable to the "Conducting FDA
Regulated Research" course taught at the MGH, which will not be offered
this summer. The session will focus on basic duties of research nurses
and coordinators involved in drug or device studies. Registration is required,
and there will be a $40 fee. For more information, send e-mail to Allison

AMMP 2004 scholarship
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP)
is offering educational scholarships to assist qualified underrepresented
minorities in obtaining the skills and training necessary to advance to
leadership positions within Partners. Applicants must be employees of
color in good standing and employed for at least one year. For more information,

EAP training
The MGH Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will offer training courses
for managers and supervisors regarding the use of the EAP as a resource
to assist with behavioral and mental health and substance abuse concerns.
The next training session will be July 22, from noon to 1:30 pm, in the
Sweet Conference Room in Gray/Bigelow 4. Additional sessions will be held
Sept. 7 and Nov. 2. To register, call (617) 726-6976.
Summer days of fun
The MGH Backup Childcare Center will offer Summer Days of Fun, July 6
through Aug. 20, from 7 am to 6 pm. The center welcomes employees' and
patients' children ages 15 months to 12 years. The cost is $6 per hour,
with a two-hour minimum. The center is located in the Warren Lobby. For

Summer picnic
Peter L.. Slavin, MD, president of the MGH, will host a summer picnic,
June 29, from 11:30 am to 2 pm under the Bulfinch tent, rain or shine.
All MGH employees, staff and volunteers are welcome. A complimentary picnic-style
lunch will be served. For evening- and night-shift MGHers, refreshments
will be served 10 pm to midnight in the Main Corridor.
