Ten years
strong ... and growing
The
MGH recently celebrated a milestone with the 10th anniversary of the MGH
Vincent Obstetrics program, June 17. The celebration marked the anniversary
of the 1994 reintroduction of obstetrics to the MGH and honored the interdisciplinary
team of doctors, nurses and staff who make up the program. MGHers were
invited to enjoy cake and ice cream under the Bulfinch tent. Pictured above, Trustee Judy

and Isaac Schiff, MD, of MGH Vincent Obstetrics; and Peter L. Slavin,
MD, MGH president.
The George Russel trio performed live music, and
the celebration also offered exhibits featuring services offered by the
Obstetrics program. MGH Vincent Obstetrics has had many achievements during
the past decade. When the service was first launched, the goal was to
achieve 2,000 deliveries per year by 2000. That goal was exceeded in 1997.
Since its inception, the Vincent has delivered approximately 22,000 babies.
"The
success of the program belongs to members of the Vincent staff,"
says Isaac Schiff, MD, chief of the MGH Vincent Obstetric and Gynecology
Service. "I am proud of them, their skill, their supportive collabor-ation,
their hard work and their relentless pursuit of the best that medicine
has to offer for all women." Frigoletto and Slavin
