For men only: cancer prevention, treatment tips

Researchers and clinicians don't know what causes many types of cancer, but they do know certain cancers pose a particular threat to men. Many employees, patients and visitors attended the Men's Cancers Fair, held in the Main Lobby June 14, to learn about early detection, prevention and treatment of the most common cancers affecting men today. Prostate, testicular, colorectal, lung and skin cancers were the focus of an informative display of posters, pamphlets and brochures. The fair, sponsored by the MGH Cancer Center, taught patients and visitors prevention strategies to reduce cancer risk as well as treatment options and guides for individuals living with cancer. Clinicians — including nurse practitioners, research nurses and genetic counselors — were available to answer questions and provide additional information.

Passersby receive information at the Men's Cancers Fair.
