Jay A. Fishman, MD, of the MGH Infectious Disease Unit, was appointed president of the American Society of Transplantation (AST) at the American Transplant Congress. The AST is an organization of more than 2,100 transplant professionals dedicated to transplant research, education, advocacy and patient care.

Kenneth Minaker, MD, of MGH Geriatric Medicine, recently was awarded the Nascher/Manning award by the American Geriatrics Association. This award honors an individual with distinguished, life-long achievement in clinical geriatrics.

Kathy Tabor McEwan, RT(R), director of clinical operations for MGH Radiology, received the Oliver E. Merrill Award from the Massachusetts Society of Radiologic Technologists (MSRT). McEwan was recognized and presented with this award at the annual MSRT conference for exemplifying superior leadership qualities, as well as for professional and educational contributions to the field of radiology.
