The next phase of iBridge: Employee Self Service

Accessing personal demographic information through Human Resources now is at MGHers' fingertips with the roll-out of the new PeopleSoft Human Resources (HR) Employee Self Service (ESS) program. As a part of the PeopleSoft HR web-based applications, ESS will allow any employee to access and change their personal information in their Human Resources online record. For example, ESS allows employees to view their W-4 tax information, enroll in the MBTA pass program, change address information, update emergency contacts, list education and professional training, change direct deposit deductions and view their paycheck information. From Partners computer workstations, employees can access ESS by selecting PeopleSoft HRMS from the start button.

"Instead of filling out forms and making phone calls, employees now have the ability to access their own personal information right from their desktop," says Martha Priest, HR services training coordinator. "This system is more efficient and empowers employees to have more control over their own information."

For employees who do not have access to a computer, the Clinics 1 Payroll Office has been transformed into a full-service Employee Access Center with computer terminals and technical support in using the new program. In addition, terminals are available at the 75 Blossom Court and CNY 149 Human Resources offices and the Professional Staff Benefits Office on Bulfinch 1. The distribution of paychecks and T-passes will continue at the Clinics 1 location on regular paydays beginning at 7 am. The new center, however, will no longer operate as a traditional payroll office. It will be devoted to Employee Access Center and other employee activities.
