Charles River Park health club open house
The MGH recently acquired the rights to The Clubs at Charles River Park, a health and fitness facility located adjacent to the hospital next to Eight Whittier Place. There will be an open house at the club for all MGH employees June 26. More details to be announced in next week's Hotline.

Domestic violence survivors book
The MGH Domestic Violence Working Group is creating a book to honor survivors of domestic violence. MGH employees, family members and friends are invited to submit stories, poems and other writing. Submissions may be published anonymously and should be submitted by July 1. AMMP scholarships
The Association of Multicultural Members of Partners (AMMP) now is accepting applications for the 2001 AMMP scholarships. All Partners minority employees in good standing and employed for at least one year are eligible to receive up to $1,000. Applicants must be accepted into part-time or full-time programs of study and should be willing to commit at least 20 hours of service to AMMP if chosen as scholarship recipients. MGH Cancer Center's HOPES Program offerings
The MGH Cancer Center's HOPES (Helping Our Patients and Families through Education and Support) Program will offer "Helping Your Child Eat During Cancer Treatment," June 11, noon to 1 pm. Jill Oravitz, RD, MGH Oncology dietitian, will facilitate. For more information, call (617) 72-HOPES.

Support Service Employees Grant Program
All benefits-eligible MGH support service employees, who have been at the hospital in good standing for at least two years, are invited to apply for the Support Service Employees Grant Program. Applications can be obtained at the Human Resources locations on White 14 and CNY 7 and at 75 Blossom Court, or by calling Nancy Marttila at (617) 724-3055. All applications are due by June 22 to qualify for financial assistance during the fall 2001 and spring 2002 semesters.

MGH Chelsea bike safety event
The MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center's fourth annual "Safety-On-Wheels" event has been rescheduled for June 16, noon to 3 pm in the health center parking lot, 151 Everett Ave. in Chelsea. Parents and children from 4 to 15 years old are invited to stop by to enjoy bicycle, rollerblade and helmet safety checks, a rodeo, bike raffle and more. For more information, call (617) 887-3504.

Run-walkathon for infectious diseases
The UMass Boston athletic staff, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and Sodexho-Marriott Food Service will sponsor a "Run-Walkathon for Infectious Diseases" to benefit the MGH Infectious Disease Division, June 10. The event will begin at 10 am from the MDC Lee Pool across from the MGH, and will involve a 5K loop around the Charles River.
